page 56 of 365 – What Keeps Me Going

Last year I experienced so many small moments when I caught myself thinking „how is this even possible“???

When I was feeling so freaking grateful to be alive, remembering times not so long ago when I thought I couldn’t make it through another day…

And there I was. At places I had only visited in my dreams. Spending time with the most beautiful souls. Meeting my biggest mentors in person. Sailing into the sunrise on a hippie boat in Spain. Running through downtown LA with the dopest running crew out there. Experiencing true magic at a retreat and forming soul connections for life. Getting sun burnt in Egypt. Starting crying during yoga classes. Exploring Iceland and Utah and Arizona. Running along Portugal’s coastline with my mom and jumping into the Atlantic with my baby brother. Feeling malibu sun on my skin and spending days in my personal paradise, drinking way too much kombucha and experiencing what real friendship can feel like. Short trips to Berlin and romantic days in Italy and fitness fun in Austria…

It’s all these memories that I’m most grateful for right now. Because they taught me that e v e r y t h i n g is possible. And that we always have to keep going, no matter what. That’s what puts a smile on my face right now, laying in bed with my broken foot, swollen legs & aching body.

I have so much trust within myself even though I’m in pain, even though it looks like i need to cancel a lot of plans that I looked forward to so much, even though I need to keep bed rest for a while now. This too will pass. And I will rise from this even stronger. I can’t wait to see where life will take me in the next chapter and for now I’m taking on this challenge to calm the fuck down and fully recover. Grateful for this very moment knowing that I will look back on it, feeling so very proud of myself. We are always where we most need to be. So if you are struggling right now – please don’t ever give up on yourself ♥️ You will come out on the other side. #jjgratitudebook
